What are hardware and software technologies for banks and BCs?
Hardware and software technologies for banks and BCs are the devices, apps and back-office systems that let a bank deliver services through Business Correspondents (BCs) and agents. The RAIVENS Banking Technology suite brings them together: complete BC point kits, countertop agent-banking terminals, device lifecycle management, monitoring dashboards and custom software, all designed and built by one in-house team.
Why one integrated platform matters
Agent networks often grow device by device. A scanner comes from one vendor, a GPS receiver from another, a terminal from a third, and a spreadsheet tracks them all. When something fails, nobody is sure which device is at fault, which agent has it, or whether a replacement already went out. Data about agents, devices and transactions sits in separate places, which slows audits and support.
An integrated platform fixes that. Every device carries a serial number, every serial maps to an agent, and every event, from factory test to return, lands in one record that the dashboard can show.
What a complete BC point includes
| Component | Role at the BC point | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| USB GPS receiver | Geo-tags every transaction | GPS devices for banks |
| Fingerprint scanner | National ID-based biometric authentication | Biometric devices |
| Handheld POS or countertop terminal | Runs the agent app, reads cards, prints receipts | Handheld POS machines |
| Payment soundbox | Announces QR payments and transaction results | Payment soundbox |
Kits are configured for your services, tested together and shipped with serial-number records, so each one can be assigned to an agent before it leaves the factory.
Device lifecycle management by serial number
Lifecycle management follows each device through five stages:
- Factory test. Results are stored against the serial number.
- Dispatch. The device is linked to a BC, an agent and a delivery.
- Self-test. The agent runs a guided check after installation or before raising a complaint.
- Complaints. Issues are logged against the serial number and the agent.
- Returns. Repairs and replacements close the loop and update the record.
Monitoring dashboards and custom software
Dashboards show active and inactive agents, transaction volumes, geo-tagged maps and device health, with alerts for exceptions such as transactions far from an agent’s registered location. Operations teams can use them to follow up on inactive agents, plan field visits and answer audit questions with data instead of spreadsheets.
Where off-the-shelf software does not fit, Raivens builds it: agent onboarding apps, complaint and service portals, dispatch and stock tracking, management reports and integrations with the bank’s or BC’s systems through APIs. Typically, the bank’s core systems remain the system of record for transactions, while the Raivens platform adds the device, agent and location layer around them.
Integration and support
Since 2012, Raivens has designed electronics, firmware, cloud platforms and apps in-house, and it manufactures, tests, installs and supports its own devices. That keeps hardware and software questions with one accountable team. To scope a kit, a dashboard or a custom build, contact our team. Drivers and setup help are on the support page.
